LG X3 quad-core Android smartphone revealed

With quad-core tablets in the form of the ASUS Transformer Prime hitting the market last year, we guess it was inevitable that quad-core smartphones would eventually follow. If the rumors have it right, HTC will probably be releasing their own quad-core smartphone in the form of the HTC Edge/Endeavor, and safe to assume that the Samsung Galaxy S III will also be going down the quad-core path as well. Well, not to feel left out of the quad-core party, it seems that LG has a quad-core smartphone planned as well.

Dubbed the LG X3, rumor has it that it will feature a quad-core processor powered by none other than NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 chipset, feature a whopping 4.7” 1280×720 display, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera and will come with 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via microSD. Whether this will be LTE capable or not remains to be seen for now but it apparently will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. LG has yet to confirm the existence of the device, but assuming it is for real, MWC 2012 would be a good place for the South Korean company to debut their brand new quad-core Android-powered smartphone.
