LG Viper eco-friendly 4G LTE Android smartphone headed to Sprint

While the idea of eco-friendly smartphones might seem novel, we guess every little bit helps, right? Well if you are really eco-minded, you might want to take a look at what LG will be offering on Sprint’s upcoming 4G LTE network. It seems that the South Korean company will be debuting the LG Viper 4G/LTE Ecos which is expected to come in priced cheaper than the Galaxy Nexus and supposedly will feature a better display as well.

What makes the LG Viper “eco-friendly” is its charger which has a no load consumption rating of 0.3W. This is apparently better than the EC code of conduct for energy efficiency. Apart from that particular eco-friendly feature, the LG Viper will feature a Nova display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, dual-cameras (5MP rear/VGA front) and will come preloaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, although an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is expected in the near future. What do you guys think? Is its eco-friendliness merely a gimmick or would is it a feature you would take into consideration seriously?
