Android Skydroid UI will be inspired by Windows 8’s Metro UI

When it comes to custom Android user interfaces, there are a couple out there for Android users to choose from, but if you enjoy the irony or if Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8 Metro UI has caught your attention, it looks like an upcoming Android UI called Skydroid is currently in the works, a UI that is supposedly inspired by Windows 8.

However unlike most homescreen replacement apps, Skydroid will attempt to differentiate itself by bundling several apps along with it. We’re assuming these apps will be optimized for the Metro UI and among them includes a new dialer, SMS, email, calendar, browser, launcher, etc. For more information on Skydroid, head on over to the XDA forums where you will be able to read up on the progress, or even contribute if you have any sort of prior experience with these sorts of things.
