3G+ Blackberry Playbook in the works?

The Blackberry Playbook was probably not one of the more well received tablets of 2011, and thanks to a supposed leak of RIM’s roadmap slides for 2012, we can’t say that the next-generation Blackberry Playbook will impress either, assuming of course that the leaked specs are to be believed.

Based on the specs pictured above, one of bigger changes coming to the next-gen Playbook would be its addition of HSPA+ connectivity which we guess is a huge bump over the previous WiFi-only model. It will also sport a new dual-core processor that’s about 50% higher than its predecessor, an increase to 32GB of internal storage and NFC capabilities.

However its screen size and resolution appears to remain the same along with its RAM, not to mention oddly enough it has seen its battery capacity drop from 5,300mAh to 4,800mAh, which means that we sincerely hope the new processor is efficient enough to warrant the decrease in battery life, if not HSPA+ connected tablet with a smaller battery smells like a lot of complaints waiting to happen!

No word if and when the supposed 3G+ Playbook will be released, so in the meantime we suggest you take this with a grain of salt for now, at least until RIM has made an official announcement of sorts.
