Toshiba Excite AT200 to arrive in January 2012

Thanks to Toshiba Canada, it looks like if you were eyeing the Toshiba Excite AT200 that was announced some time back in September, the good news is that we could be getting the tablet stateside come January of 2012. The tablet was originally unveiled back in September and boasted to be the “world’s thinnest and lightest” tablet, although we can’t really corroborate those claims until we get one for ourselves.

However given its measurements of a mere 7.7mm thin, it would actually make the tablet thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S2, although how well that will translate into ergonomics remains to be seen. It will feature a 1.2GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor, a 10.1” 1280×800 display, 5MP/2MP rear/front-facing cameras, a micro HDMI port and will be available in either 16GB or 32GB versions. It will also come loaded up with Android’s Honeycomb 3.2, although no word from Toshiba if they have plans to bump it up Android 4.0 in the future.
