Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 4G headed to Verizon

If you’ve always wanted to purchase a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play but the lack of 4G connectivity has been stopping you, you’re in luck. According to a photograph of an internal Verizon document it looks like we’ll be seeing a 4G version of the phone on Big Red. The document mentions that there will be some training sessions held for the phone this week, and any Verizon staffs who attend the training will be entered into a lucky draw to win the phone.

No details about the phone were mentioned, but we believe it should be the same as the regular Xperia Play with the addition of a 4G LTE radio (and a higher price tag). Hopefully it packs a larger battery to take advantage of its high-speed connectivity – it is a gaming phone after all, and having 4G LTE on + games all the time is going to put a serious drain on the phone. Does the inclusion of 4G capabilities on the Xperia Play make you want to purchase the phone?
