So we know that American Airlines will be making the transition to use Apple’s iPads to replace flight manuals and certain navigational tools, but beyond the captain’s cockpit and in the first class cabin, passengers will be using an entirely different platform instead. It appears that despite American Airlines’ financial woes, they will be outfitting their first class passengers with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets.

These tablets will be provided only to first class passengers traveling between major international airports. Naturally these tablets will be customized to feature American Airlines’ own range of entertainment, such as movies, television shows and music selection. Come 2012 the tablets will be upgraded to include WiFi capabilities, games and ebooks, not too shabby huh?
