Samsung Galaxy Note LTE coming to AT&T in 2012

Good news AT&T subscribers, if you were particularly looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy Note, it appears that the carrier will be bringing in the device come early 2012. It will be known as the SGH-I717 and there will be a couple of differences between AT&T’s version and the international version.

As you might have suspected, the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy Note will come with 4G LTE support. Secondly the Galaxy Note for AT&T will be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor as opposed to Samsung’s very own Exynos-branded processors. It seems that the reason behind this move is because the Exynos processors aren’t capable yet, which is why Samsung has gone with Qualcomm for their Galaxy S2 Skyrocket handset as well.

It is possible that the 4G LTE Galaxy Note will be making an appearance at CES 2012, and even though it is powered by Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 now, hopefully when it is finally launched in the US it will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich instead.
