Samsung announces Android 4.0 update for Galaxy devices Q1 2012

Good news Samsung Galaxy owners as it looks like Samsung has officially announced the time frame at which they will release the update Android 4.0 update for their devices. The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is expected to roll out first to Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note devices come Q1 of 2012.

Other devices that are expected to receive the update include the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE, Galaxy R, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. These devices will receive the update after the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note receives theirs, so we’re not sure if these fall under the same time frame or if they will arrive much later.

According to Samsung, update availability will vary according to region and carrier requirements, so for those living in the US where updates need to pass through the carriers first, you guys could be in for a slightly longer wait, but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for it, so stay tuned.
