$1.7 million worth of Blackberry Playbooks stolen from RIM

It seems like RIM can’t seem to catch a break, what with their dismal sales of the Blackberry Playbook that resulted in them having to start selling it on discount, not to mention the delay of Blackberry 10 devices, it now appears that a truck carrying a shipment of RIM’s Blackberry Playbooks had its cargo stolen.

We’re not sure how many units the truck was carrying, but according to RIM’s estimates, this theft has cost the company a whopping $1.7 million. While the $1.7 million lost pales in comparison to the $485 million worth of unsold Playbooks, it is still a pretty big loss for the company. Let’s just hope that RIM will be able to hold on long enough to put out some Blackberry 10 devices that will help them to regain their market share.
