RIM dismisses reports of Blackberry 10 troubles

Yesterday there were rumors about how an alleged high level executive in RIM basically slammed the company’s upcoming Blackberry 10 platform. The rumor said that the reason behind the Blackberry 10 delay was because of problems with its core functionality, such as with emails and Blackberry Messenger, and also because RIM apparently had no working models yet.

RIM has decided to step forward and shut these rumors down be reiterating what RIM’s CEO said last time, which was that the Blackberry 10 platform along with its related devices would be seeing a delay because the company was waiting for a more efficient dual-core LTE capable chipset to be put into production before finally launching the device.

While it looks like the rumor has been put to rest, RIM’s decision to delay the Blackberry 10 platform and its devices is indeed a worrying one. By giving the competition even more time, RIM is steadily losing more smartphone platform market share which they hope they will be able to recapture with the launch of Blackberry 10. Assuming the leaked photos we’ve seen are real, RIM’s upcoming devices are indeed something to look forward to.
