Nokia diagnostic’s app hints at LTE capable Lumia devices

We know that Microsoft is looking into LTE for Windows Phone, and there were rumors that seemed to suggest that Nokia was testing out LTE capable Windows Phone devices on both AT&T and Verizon’s network, and thanks to the folks down at Nanapho.jp who did some digging around on Nokia and uncovered the Nokia diagnostic app.

The app revealed that tests for LTE TX and LTE Band Lock were conducted, with the latter band featuring Bands 4 and Bands 17, both of which are the same bands being used by AT&T’s new LTE network, which could suggest that an LTE version of the Nokia Lumia 800 could be arriving on AT&T’s network, although this is pretty much a long shot and you should probably refrain from getting your hopes up just yet. Nokia has an event planned during CES 2012, so perhaps an announcement of LTE capable Windows Phone devices could be one of them! Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
