Nokia Belle update coming in February 2012

We’re sure there’s still a bunch of Symbian users out there, so here’s the good news. Come February 2012, Nokia will no longer be referring to the Symbian Belle update as “Symbian Belle”, but instead will refer to it as the Nokia Belle. We know that Nokia had plans to release the Belle update to their Symbian users next year, but at least Symbian users now have a date to look forward to.

In addition to the update being pushed out to existing Symbian handsets, for those looking to get on board the Symbian bandwagon, Nokia will be releasing “enhanced” versions of the Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 will be made available with Nokia Belle preinstalled on them. They are expected to go on sale in China first followed by the rest of the world later.

Despite Nokia putting pretty much all of their proverbial eggs into Microsoft’s basket, it’s good to know that Nokia has not completely forsaken their existing Symbian users.
