MIUI successfully ported over onto the Galaxy Nexus

For those who aren’t that interested in running stock Android on their Galaxy Nexus, the good news is that developer DroidVicious has successfully ported over his ViciousMIUI ROM from the HTC Thunderbolt over onto Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus. Most of the main functions are working, such as calls, SMS and data, with the exception of WiFi being somewhat buggy and softkeys not working.

This is rather impressive as he claims that he managed to get most of the functions up and running in under a day. If you’d like to give this ROM a shot, you will be able to find the download links and its instructions on the RootzWiki forum. Once again we’d like to caution you about installing ROMs and whatnot especially if you’re new to it and you’re not sure what you’re doing. However if you’re feeling particularly brave, it does look like a pretty decent ROM, so save for the WiFi and softkeys not functioning properly, it does look like it’s ready to go.
