Developers have often used the code found within iOS to out new Apple products, such as iPhones, iPads, iMacs, and MacBook laptops. Even though the code doesn’t reveal anything about the product, such as hardware specs or release time frame, it does kill the surprise to a certain extent and it seems that Apple isn’t too happy about it.

Apple has released iOS 5.1 beta 2 and it appears that with the beta 2, Apple has started masking the names of their upcoming releases by listing devices that would suggest it might be years from being released. This includes entries such as “iPhone 7,3”, “AppleTV9,2”, and so on. Either way it looks like developers will need to find hints of new Apple products in a different manner from now on.
