Intel to show off Samsung Android 4.0 smartphones next year?

While Intel has been busy and rather successful at getting their processors into desktop computers and laptops, they haven’t really been making much waves at the mobile industry although we know that they have plans to enter the mobile market, which at the moment seems to be largely dominated by Qualcomm and NVIDIA. However if the recent rumors are to be believed, Intel could be primed and ready for the mobile market in 2012.

The release of their new processors, code named Medfield, is expected to launch on Samsung phones running Android 4.0 and is said to be arriving on Sprint’s network. Samsung has toyed with several different processors in the past, including Qualcomm and even their own Exynos processor, so we guess it wouldn’t be a stretch to see them give Intel’s Medfield a try.

As to when can we see this Intel-powered Samsung Android phone? Well, CES 2012 would be a good time for companies to show off what they’re working on, but if the schedule’s a bit too tight, we’re guessing MWC 2012 would also be good time for them to show off their collaboration. So, who’s looking forward to Intel-powered smartphones?
