Instagram coming to Android according to CEO

We’re guessing there are probably several Android users out there who may be jealous of iOS users’ access to the Instagram app. For those who aren’t familiar with Instagram, it’s basically a photography app for iOS devices that allows users to snap photos and apply “retro” looking filters to them and upload them to Instagram’s website for sharing.

It’s a free app and there are pretty cool effects, not to mention it is integrated with Facebook which helped to make it even more popular. The good news is that Instagram’s CEO revealed that they had plans to bring the app over onto Android although no mention of when it will be ready. We’re guessing that the Android version should remain free too as the company’s CEO mentioned that they would be looking into ad placement as a form of revenue.

We have to wonder what took them so long to bring it over to Android, but to be honest is Instagram an app that Android users are dying to have?
