Huawei Ascend II arrives on US Cellular next week

For those on US Cellular, the good news is that if you were looking for a phone on a budget, the carrier may have the solution for you in the form of the Huawei Ascend II. In terms of hardware, what we are looking at here is a 3.5” display with a 5MP camera, a 2GB SD card, Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Swype installed and will basically be free on contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. Not too shabby, right?

Huawei has been known for their affordable devices after, although come MWC 2012, you might want to keep an eye out on the manufacturer as they plan to unveil their new flagship phone that they’re promising will be their “greatest yet”. Either way we don’t see why the Huawei Ascend II shouldn’t be able to get the job done if all you require is the sending of emails, browsing, making phone calls and sending/receiving text.
