H1Siri port is not only illegal, but it doesn’t work

It appears that there is a new Siri port developed by a group of Chinese hackers who call themselves the CD-Dev Team. However it appears that this port was not meant for public consumption, but somehow the code was leaked and now the whole internet is just buzzing over this port.

It’s been dubbed “H1Siri” (Hi Siri!) and it appears that attempting to port this Siri hack onto your iPhone 4 does more harm that good. For those who have not been following the Siri porting attempts, it should be noted that porting Siri over onto other iOS devices is constituted as piracy as it would require the copying of code. Most of the attempts that you’ve seen on YouTube and the internet have mostly been for demonstrative purposes with no intention to release them to the public.

If that bit of legal caveat has not put you off, here’s something that might. It appears that H1Siri does not work. Many developers have bravely attempted to install this port on their devices and have come back reporting a wealth of problems that frankly doesn’t seem worth it. There have been complaints of the camera not functioning, random reboots, bricking of the phone, causing the phone to be stuck at the Apple logo while booting up and even messing up the Settings app

So why would we share with you guys a port that doesn’t even work? Well, we’d like to think of it as fair warning should you guys decide that maybe this is something you’d like to try for yourselves. Given the whole legal mess that you might be getting yourself into, not to mention the numerous problems, it just doesn’t seem like a very smart move.
