Gmail app for iOS updated with new features

Published

For those who may not prefer using iOS’s default mail app, the good news is that Gmail has updated its iOS app with some new features and interface improvements as you can see in the screenshot above. It now supports custom signatures, a vacation responder, improved labels, a new notification sound and a new feature that allows users to make a scribble a message as a quick and easy way to send off a message.

Granted it probably isn’t as powerful as the Gmail integration is for Android devices, but it appears that Google has not forsaken iOS users completely and are still working on improving the Gmail app over time. In the meantime for those who have yet to download the app or have yet to update it, the latest version of Gmail for iOS is available via the iTunes App Store and will be compatible with iOS 4+.
