While certain Android phones have the luxury and ability to have gaming controllers attached to it for enhanced gameplay, iOS devices so far have not really had much luck. Well the good news for gamers on iOS looking for a gaming controller, 60beat has recently rolled out their GamePad controller for iOS devices that connects to the phone via the audio jack.

We have to admit this sounds a little weird as most of you guys probably expect the peripheral to connect via the dock connector, but that does not appear to be the case. According to 60beat, the GamePad supposedly offers up “precise response” and will come bundled with a variety of tactile sensations, dual analog sticks and a D-pad. It will also feature 10 action buttons and 3 menu buttons, but the bad news is that due its rather unusual connection, it appears to work only with two games at the moment – Bugdom 2 and Aftermath.

If you’d like to pick the GamePad up for yourself, expect to fork out $49.99 for it. You will be able to pick it up from 60beat’s website where you will also be able to check out the list of iOS compatible games.
