Unofficial fix for Galaxy Nexus volume bug now available

Published

on

The Galaxy Nexus has a bug that has been plaguing several users in Europe. For those unfamiliar with the bug, basically it involves the volume switch on the device. It seems that on occasion, the volume would start to shift erratically, jumping from mute to extremely loud, to the middle and basically all over the place.

Google has acknowledged the existence of the bug but unfortunately has yet to release a fix to address the problem. The good news is for those who have managed to root their Galaxy Nexus phones, an unofficial fix is now available thanks to Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo.

If the volume bug has been driving you up the wall, and if you own a rooted Galaxy Nexus (or wouldn’t mind rooting your device), the unofficial fix is available from MoDaCo along with the full set of instructions. Remember this is all installed at your own risk, so proceed only if you know what you’re doing.
