Siri makes its way onto the iPhone 3GS

Thanks to developers chpwn and Steven-Troughton Smith, it appears that a successful port of Siri onto the iPhone 3GS has been achieved, although do not expect this port to be released anytime soon as it requires piracy and a jailbroken iPhone to accomplish, both of which aren’t exactly looked upon favorably by Apple.

Siri is a feature on the iPhone 4S that Apple has tried to market in order to set the iPhone 4S apart from its predecessor. However we have reported previously that rumors had suggested that Apple was working on bringing Siri over onto older devices. As to whether that is true remains to be seen for now.

In the video, developer Ryan Petrich is showing Siri running on the iPhone 3GS with no apparent lag issues whatsoever, suggesting that if Apple were to bring Siri onto older iPhones, the iPhone 3GS should be able to get it without much difficulty.
