Semi-working Android 4.0 ports now available for some devices

While manufacturers have been busy outing devices that will be getting the Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update, developers have been busy getting ICS 4.0 ports onto devices. If you happen to own the Motorola Xoom, DROID Incredible, HTC Thunderbolt, DROID 3 and DROID Bionic, the good news is that semi-working ports are being developed as we speak.

If you’re interested in keeping track of the progress of these builds which hopefully will start rolling out way ahead of an official release, you can head on down to the XDA forums for the Motorola Xoom build, download the alpha build for the DROID Incredible from @preludedrew’s Twitter, get the ROM off RootzWiki for the HTC Thunderbolt, check out the progress for the DROID 3 on Hash of Codes, or check out the DROID Bionic ROM from DroidForums.

Once again we’d like to point out that this should be installed at your own risk, so proceed only if you’re too impatient to wait for an official ICS update, or if you know what you’re doing!
