Samsung wins early court date against Apple in Australia

Apple and Samsung have been embroiled in legal battles for the longest time now, but it looks like Samsung may have won a minor victory over Apple in their legal battle held in Australia. The judge presiding over the case has granted Samsung an early trial which will be held in March of 2012. Apple had initially opposed this early date as they claimed that they needed more time to prepare the case, and were looking to enter the courts in August of 2012.

Samsung has accused Apple of infringing upon some of its patents, which is the use of 3G technology that can be found in their iPhones, and some models of the iPad. Samsung is also seeking an injunction against some of Apple’s products should they be successful in the court case. Either way it looks like we will have to wait until next year for more details about the ongoing court case. Who knows, both companies could have reached a settlement by then too.
