Pantech Vega LTE smartphones will feature eyeSight technology

There probably have been a handful of times when you need to answer the phone, but your hands are dirty or otherwise occupied. Pantech together with eyeSight Mobile Technologies have come up with a way for you to make use of gestures on your mobile phone without having to ever touch it.

These new gestures include the ability to answer incoming calls, activate their MP3 players, play games and perform other tasks. This would be ideal for those situations where you may be wearing gloves, or when driving and you can reach for your phone, or when in the kitchen and your hands may be dirty.

eyeSight’s technology is expected to make its way onto Pantech’s new Vega LTE capable smartphones, which are expected to hit the market later this month. At the moment it looks like these new devices will be targeted at the South East Asian market, and no word if there are any plans to take this global. You can check out the demonstration video here.
