Orange’s San Francisco II Android smartphone surfaces

A leaked press shot of Orange’s San Francisco II Android smartphone seems to have confirmed earlier reports that the carrier was working with ZTE to put out a successor to the original San Francisco. As some of you who may already be aware, ZTE along with Huawei are both known for putting out affordable devices with modest specifications, and the San Francisco II appears to be no different.

In terms of specs, we can expect a 3.5” WVGA display, an 800MHz processor under the hood, a 5MP camera, a microSD card slot and Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 on board. No word on pricing or availability, but if the San Francisco II were to follow in the footsteps of the San Francisco, we don’t expect it to be breaking any banks any time soon.

It will also be interesting to see if it will be met with the same success and enthusiasm that many budget shoppers had for the original San Francisco. For those shopping on a budget and looking for an Android smartphone, perhaps the San Francisco II might be a phone worth checking out.
