Nokia to issue updates for Lumia 800 battery issues

While the most of us in the US have yet to get our hands on the Nokia Lumia 800 (check out our review here if you’re planning to get it import via the gray market), it seems that there has been some concerns by those who own it about its battery life. The concerns aren’t as widespread as those affecting iPhone owners running on iOS 5.0.1, but there are still enough complaints for Nokia to pay attention to.

However not to worry as Nokia has issued a statement claiming that they will be issuing two Windows Phone updates to address the battery issues on the Nokia Lumia 800. The first update is expected to hit some time in December, and this update is said to improve power efficiency.

The second update will arrive early January of 2012 and it too will address battery life through enhancements not just to battery life, but to battery charging as well. So if you’re experiencing poor battery life or substandard performance on your Nokia Lumia 800, December 2011 and January 2012 are the dates you could look forward to.
