Nokia GEM concept phone is an interesting idea

Nokia has recently released a new smartphone concept that they are calling the GEM. Basically what it does is that it offers the user a completely customizable look, and we don’t mean that by referring to interchangeable covers or the user interface. Instead the Nokia GEM itself is completely customizable, allowing the user to change the entire look of the phone, especially since both the front and back portions of the device are touch screen displays.

Now in terms of design, we can’t say we love the candybar form factor which is reminiscent of some of Nokia’s older phone models, but as far as the concept is concerned, well what’s not to like? The ability to transform your device into a display, or to enable controls when desired leaves us thinking of endless possibilities.
