Barnes & Noble is not pleased with Microsoft’s Android patent licensing tactics

Microsoft has been busy adding Android manufacturers to their list of licensees. These include some big names such as HTC and Samsung, and it seems that Barnes & Noble did not take too kindly to this. The company is now asking US regulators to investigate Microsoft’s tactics, claiming that Microsoft is attempting to drive out the competition and deter innovation.

While Microsoft has been rather aggressive with their attempts to collect royalties for their patents which are being used in Android devices, an alternative would be lawsuits, a tactic which Apple has deployed against various Android manufacturers, most notably Samsung, HTC and Motorola. It looks like you just can’t please everybody.
