Eagerly anticipating Ice Cream Sandwich on your Android device? Well, according to Notion Ink’s CEO, Rohan Shravan, the source code of the latest Android build will be released come 17th of November. Now Mr Shravan has had a pretty good track record with these predictions when he correctly predicted the release of Gingerbread last year, so perhaps we won’t be so quick to dismiss this piece of news.

What this means is that those on with phones that have been outed by their respective manufacturers to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update, will be pleased to know that work on the update for their devices will be able to commence shortly and that they should be receiving their updates in a timely manner (hopefully).

For those who can’t be bothered for OEMs to release the update, developers will also probably get their hands on the source code, hopefully cooking up some ROMs for older devices that may or may not be receiving the update officially.
