Additional HTC Edge details emerge

We reported yesterday about the HTC Edge, which is supposedly a new phone that HTC is working on and probably the first Android smartphone we’ve heard about that will run on NVIDIA’s Tegra-3 quad-core processor. Now it seems that additional details have surfaced, thanks to BGR, who reports that the display is actually a 4.7” 720p HD S-LCD 2 display with optional lamination, and some are saying that this could rival or even possibly beat out Apple’s Retina display.

The HTC Edge has also been said to be a mere 8.8mm thin, which isn’t Motorola Droid RAZR dimensions, but still thin enough. It will also come with 32GB of internal storage built in, 1GB of RAM with a microSD card slot, an 8MP camera with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, along with a 720p front-facing camera should anyone want to hold video calls in HD. It will also feature Beats Audio integration, an 1800mAh battery and NFC capabilities.

Unfortunately still no word on which version of Android it will be running on, but safe to say that it will at the very least run on Gingerbread 2.3, with a strong possibility of it launching with Ice Cream Sandwich instead.
