Windows Phone Xbox Companion app lets you control your console

Apart from its ability to play games, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 entertainment suite offers other, well, entertaining features. Microsoft has recently announced that they will be expanding those offerings and their reach in a partnership with Verizon and Comcast (among others), but not just that, according to the Windows Phone team, there will also be a companion app for the entertainment suite.

The app will be called the Xbox Companion and it would give users the ability to navigate the Xbox Live Marketplace, as well as control your console and video playback directly from your phone. The app is currently in beta although it is expected to be available for free soon.
