TSMC sends delegation to Apple’s Cupertino campus

Due to the legal issues between Samsung and Apple, it’s only natural that Apple would want to start reducing their dependency on Samsung for manufacturing some of their components – namely their displays and their processors.

Previous rumors had suggested that TSMC would be the new manufacturers for Apple’s Ax chips, possibly the A6 (the successor to the A5 found in the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S) and if the rumors are to be believed, even the A7! As it turns out, TSMC had sent 60 of their people down to Apple’s Cupertino campus where they will negotiate the conditions of their upcoming partnership.

If this is the case, it looks like future iPhones and iPads could very well be running on TSMC made processors instead of Samsung.
