Sprint will not be offering unlocked iPhone 4S

Yesterday we reported that if you were looking to get your hands on an unlocked iPhone 4S on contract, it was said that both Sprint and Verizon would be offering that service. However as it turns out, it wasn’t entirely accurate. While Verizon will indeed be offering users a chance to unlock their device after 60 days with good standing, Sprint however will keep their iPhone 4S locked.

In a way it made sense that Sprint would offer an unlocked iPhone 4S in order to attract more customers, especially those who travel frequently and need to use their phone internationally, but it seems that Sprint is afraid that their customers would purchase the unlocked phone and then switch over to a different carrier, which is why they will be keeping their phones locked.
