Sony Ericsson phones announced this year will receive Ice Cream Sandwich update

We know that Sony Ericsson has plans to bring the Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update to their phones, but they weren’t exactly specific as to which phones will be receiving the update. This seems to have been confirmed as the Dutch arm of Sony Ericsson has announced on their Facebook page that Sony Ericsson smartphones announced this year will be receiving the update.

This includes the Xperia Play, neo, neo V, mini, mini Pro, Ray, Pro, active, arc and the arc S. While this is good news, unfortunately no word on when exactly these phones will be receiving the update. Google has said before that they will release the update a few weeks after the Galaxy Nexus has been launched, which means that we could be looking at a end of 2011 update at the earliest, although that seems to be rather optimistic.
