San Francisco man may sue Apple and SFPD over illegal search

Late July there was an incident involving Sergio Calderon and the San Francisco PD and Apple. If you recall, an apparent iPhone prototype was lost at a bar in San Francisco, and it was traced back to Sergio Calderon. His house was then searched and he was allegedly threatened regarding his immigration status, and while he had initially thought that the people who were searching his house were part of the SF PD, it turned out that they were actually members of Apple’s security team.

Naturally this didn’t sit too well with him and now it appears that he wants to ask Apple and the police questions about their actions. It seems that if he does not receive much cooperation, Sergio Calderon plans to file a lawsuit that would reveal how Apple and the “police” managed to track the phone to his house.
