Rumor: Sprint could be getting the iPhone 5 exclusively

Rumor has it that Sprint will be one of the carriers to sport Apple’s next-generation iPhone. This would mean that they’ll be joining the ranks of AT&T and Verizon, but now thanks to rumors, it has been suggested that Sprint will be getting an exclusive deal with Apple to bring in the iPhone 5 that reportedly will work over WiMax networks.

The rumors are also suggesting that perhaps one of the reasons that Sprint managed to land this deal, is because they agreed to fork out $20 billion to Apple for 30.5 million iPhones over the next four years. If this is true, it looks like Sprint could move up from being the smallest of the four major carriers to being either second or third place.
