Android users are probably familiar with the Swype keyboard, which allows for writing messages on an on-screen keyboard simply by swiping between letters. According to reports (which have been confirmed), Nuance, the company that was expected to power the voice recognition behind iOS’s Siri, has bought Swype for a cool $100 million.

We’re not sure what sort of plans Nuance has for buying Swype, and considering that Nuance already has T9 technology of their own, we’re not sure what the company has in mind for Swype and its future. Hopefully we’ll see some changes and improvements in the future.
