LG Optimus LTE goes official in Korea

It looks like residents in South Korea will be getting a treat in the form of the LG Optimus LTE, perhaps LG’s answer to the immensely popular Samsung Galaxy S2. The device was spotted a while back but it has now been officially confirmed.

The handset, for those who forgot, sports a 4.5” IPS display with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor under the hood. It will also feature Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 and a 1830mAh li-ion battery. We’re guessing that the larger battery is probably due to LTE draining a fair bit of battery.

No word if this device has plans to make it international, although it’s speculated that perhaps Verizon could be graced by the LG Optimus LTE in the form of the LG Revolution 2 some time by the end of the year
