iPhone 4S hits 1 million pre-orders on first day

When the iPhone 4S was initially unveiled, there were probably a handful of people who were somewhat disappointed by the specs of the phone. Sure the dual-core A5 processor is great along with the amazing features of Siri, but in terms of physical appearance and with Android phones crossing the 4.5” display mark, the iPhone 4S sure didn’t seem like a very big deal, or at least not as big a deal as the rumors had made it out to be.

As it turns out, the iPhone 4S proved to be more popular than some had thought, and according to Apple, pre-orders for the iPhone 4S managed to cross 1 million within the first day of its launch, shattering Apple’s own record of 600,000 units for the iPhone 4. It’s pretty amazing when you think about it, especially considering that the iPhone 4S has yet to make its way to other countries.
