Apple TV has gets Siri Voice interface?

The grapevine is full of intoxicating rumors, and you can bet your bottom dollar that whenever there is a rumor which concerns Apple, it is going to capture a whole lot of attention no matter how busy or occupied one is. According to the New York Times, there is a rumor floating around that the much discussed integrated Apple TV (but never realized) will come with a voice activated interface that is somewhat similar to Siri on the iPhone 4S – a port of Siri on Apple TV, perhaps?

The New York Times’s Nick Bilton claims that this is how Apple managed to solve the issue of using remote controls or asking users to deal with lean-back graphical user interfaces. If proven true, then pats on the back all round to the staff over at Microsoft, since the software giant already offers voice control over their Kinect interface, and this would mean Apple is playing catch up. Make no mistake about it, if Apple pulls this off in their own special way, the rest might end up as followers since Apple would most probably make it so simple to use.

Do you think this rumor holds any water or not?
