Apple dominates in Japan with iPhone 4S

It seems that in Japan, despite the country offering some of the more interesting and quirky handsets, it looks like the iPhone 4S is stealing the show with ease. BCN Rankings has released some numbers, and while those aren’t official figures from Apple or the carriers carrying the phones, they are pretty impressive, although we wouldn’t take these figures as a statement of fact, just some interesting numbers for you to marvel over.

In the first week of the iPhone 4S being released, out of the top 11 phones, the 6 spots belonged to the iPhone 4S, with the 7th spot belonging to Samsung’s Galaxy S2, and with 2 spots belonging to the iPhone 4. The second week did not seem to change anything, with the iPhone 4S (in it different sizes and carriers) still took the top 6 spots, with the iPhone 4 32GB on Japan’s Softbank carrier stealing 7th place, pushing the Samsung Galaxy S2 further down to 8th.

It looks like despite the initial disappointment that many had when the iPhone 4S was revealed, if these figures are any indication, it looks like the device is still selling like hotcakes. We have to wonder what sort of numbers Apple will command if and when a redesigned iPhone 5 is released.
