Windows Phone users, we’re not sure what went wrong, but if the stats are to be believed, according to Andy Lees at the AsiaD conference, he confirmed that there were more Windows Phone handsets sold in its first year compared to Android handsets during Android’s first year. With figures of 6.8 million Android handsets sold in its first year, we can roughly guess how many Windows Phone devices were sold during their first year.

With Microsoft making a huge push with Mango and giving their manufacturers funding for marketing and advertising of Windows Phone devices, and with Nokia behind the production of Windows Phone devices, could we see Windows Phone finally play catchup to Android?
