ViewSonic V430 smartphone makes Russian appearance

ViewSonic is more often than not associated with monitors as well as cheap (but not necessarily low quality) HDTVs, but the company does have some tablets out you know. It does seem as though ViewSonic is interested in expanding the boundaries of their devices, hence the ViewSonic V430 smartphone popping up in Russia of all places.

The design is pretty much standard with all modern Android-powered handsets, and it is rather generic that you can’t quite put your finger on an outstanding design feature. Well, the specifications are what we’re interested in – so here goes, with a 4.3″ WVGA display, a 5-megapixel camera at the back alongside a front-facing VGA camera for video calls, and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, it all seems to add up to be a rather decent handset.

Too bad the Android version that it runs on is Android 2.2 Froyo which is so 2010, making us wonder why the heck was not Android 2.3 Gingerbread prepared for the V430? Perhaps consumers in Russia aren’t so demanding, and after downing some vodka, all phones look the same anyways.
