Not much was known about the T-Mobile variant of the Samsung Galaxy S2. Other carriers such as AT&T and Sprint were bringing it in pretty much as it is with minor tweaks here and there, but basically at the core still lies its Samsung Exynos processor. T-Mobile on the hand has gone a different route and chose not to use the Exynos processor, which left many pondering what processor it would be running on.

There were some speculation that it could go either way – NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor Qualcomm’s APQ8060 processor. As it turns out it the mystery is solved and the Galaxy S2 on T-Mobile will be running on the Qualcomm APQ8060 chipset. As the speculations had guessed in the past, the Qualcomm chipset was a logical choice as it was able to support T-Mobile’s 42Mbps network, so if you’re a T-Mobile user, while it may take slightly longer for you to get your Galaxy S2, you will be getting one with faster network speeds, a pretty fair trade if you ask me.
