Nexus Prime to only feature WVGA display?

Samsung has been the rumored manufacturer for the next Nexus device, the Nexus Prime. So far it seems that all signs are indeed pointing at Samsung, and a recent user agent profile for the device has surfaced and it seems that the device has been listed with a WVGA display of 480×800 resolution.

I know this sounds really disappointing, especially given how it is supposed to be a Nexus device, and I’m sure many were expecting nothing less than 720p. The camera specs have also listed a resolution of 1200×1600, indicating that it will come with a 2MP camera. Before you get too upset, given the amount of leaks lately, it could be possible that Samsung is attempting to throw off the spotlight on the device until they’re ready to unveil it.

Manufacturers such as HTC have been omitting information as of late to prevent leaks, so it is not a stretch to think that Samsung has adopted a similar practice. Let’s not forget with the impending release of the iPhone 5, if Google hopes to remain competitive, it’s highly unlikely that the Nexus Prime will come shipped with anything less than a qHD display. Then again this is all speculation, so I guess we will have to wait and find out!
