LG Optimus S Gingerbread update halted due to numerous bugs

Were you looking forward to the Gingerbread update for your LG Optimus S? Well, if you still have yet to receive the update, it’s because Sprint has temporarily halted updates due to numerous users reporting bugs and issues affecting their device post update.

Some issues reported are claiming that after the update, their device is no longer able to charge, no access to data services, phone claiming that the SD card has been removed/unmounted, device not recognized by Windows and predictive text no longer works. These are just some of the issues that have been spotted so far, and while some have a workaround that can be found here, issues such as device not charging will require you to head back to Sprint for an exchange.

No word on when Sprint will fix this issue, but they have already acknowledged it so let’s hope that users will not have to wait too long until they can get a fix.
