LG Optimus 3D successor will be slimmer

While we can’t know for sure if 3D is around to stay or if it’s just a novel piece of technology that will eventually die out, it seems that LG has plans for a successor to their Optimus 3D Android smartphone. It seems that the device is currently being worked on and there are plans to release it in 2012.

The good news is that if you thought the 12mm thickness of the Optimus 3D at the moment was a little too thick for your liking, its successor is said to feature a thickness of just 7mm! We’re not sure if thickness is a huge contributing factor in the success of smartphones these days, but I guess a 7mm thick device will definitely be something worth checking out.
