HTC Rhyme officially announced

Finally, after all the talks and teasers, it looks like the HTC Rhyme has officially been announced by HTC at an event they held last night. It does appear to be geared towards the female audience in mind with its purple body and the charm accessory that has been said to accompany it. A pair of tangle-free headphones will also be accompanying the device although we can’t be sure if those are Beats by Dre headphones or just regular ones.

The specs aren’t much to shout at but they’re decent mid-ranged specs. It will sport a 1GHz processor with a 3.7” display with 3G radios (a bit unfortunate that it isn’t 4G considering it will be on Verizon). It will also feature a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front camera and will be running on Android 2.3. If you’re interested in getting your hands on the device, you can head on down to Verizon’s website and sign up to be notified when it is available, which is supposed to be on the 29th of September and will be available for $200.
